The Context & Challenge
In April 2023, Cothink conducted research focused on menstrual health among women from middle- to low-income communities in Jabodetabek and Karawang. The aim was to explore women’s behaviors, perceptions, and access to menstrual health products, shedding light on an area that is often underserved and under-discussed.
Solution (The Collaborative Approach)
To carry out this research, Cothink collaborated with Kimberly-Clark, Dalberg Design, and Dalberg Advisory to craft a data collection strategy and conduct both qualitative and quantitative research in urban and rural settings. The research was designed to generate deep, human-centered insights that would guide menstrual health product development and accessibility improvements.
Result (Key Insights & Impact)
The research revealed critical insights regarding menstrual health awareness, accessibility, willingness to pay, and usage patterns among middle- to low-income women. These findings provide actionable direction for collaborators in designing more effective and empathetic menstrual health solutions that are aligned with the real needs and experiences of women in these communities.
